“The 100” Recap: Family Reunions

Season 5 of CW’s The 100 has started off strong and shows no signs of slowing down! In the most recent episode, we finally get all the reunions we have been waiting for! ‘Pandora’s Box’ was written by Charmaine De Grate and directed by Dean White.

The Deal | Bellamy (Bob Morley) knows the only way to save Clarke (Elia Taylor) and themselves, they would have to strike a deal with Diyoza (Ivana Milicevic) and her crew. So they did, they made a deal that Clarke would be set free and they would help get everyone out of the bunker in exchange for the almost 300 lives Raven (Lindsey Morgan) and Murphy (Ruchard Harmon) are holding hostage. After, the two groups will split the valley down the middle and live in peace. But these are prisoners, not people who honor their word. Diyoza just agrees so they can kidnap Abby (Paige Turco) for her people.

Clarke and Bellamy go into the bunker, where they are reunited with their family. It’s a lovely moment seeing Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) drop her blade and hug her brother when she realizes it’s him, and the same when Abby finally gets to see her daughter. Though you can tell that something is wrong with Abby, Clarke doesn’t know it yet but her mother is addicted to pills.

The Betrayal | Diyoza quickly breaks the deal she struck with Bellamy as soon as everyone is out of the bunker. She wants to take Abby with her and her people and leave the rest of them at Polis with instructions to leave the valley alone if they want to live. One douche canoe prisoner decides to take a shot at Octavia with their crazy guns, but someone steps in front and blows up instead of her. Abby agrees to go along, but only if she gets to take Kane (Henry Ian Cusick) with her, which Diyoza allows.

Wakey Wakey Time | Up in space, Raven is working to keep Shaw (Jordan Bolger) from hacking back into the ship and regaining access. She’s so good at what she does that the prisoners are forced to take things up a notch. After the betrayal, Diyoza orders Shaw to open the doors on the ship, she plans on floating Raven and Murphy. In order to save their own lives Raven makes the only move she can to save them, she wakes up the prisoners, forcing Shaw to keep the doors shut. Only problem is, now it’s two against almost 300 prisoners.

The 100 airs Tuesdays at 9pm on The CW.
