“The 100” Recap: Shoot to Kill

The newest episode of CW’s The 100 finally shed some light on the whole prison ship situation. Along with introducing a slew of new characters, we see Clarke dealing with the newcomers, along with SpaceKru’s return to the ground. ‘Sleeping Giants,’ was written by Aaron Ginsburg and Wade McIntyre, and directed by Tim Scanlan.

Wakey Wakey Time | In space, SpaceKru lands on the prison ship and are surprised when they aren’t greeted by guards. They grab the fuel that they need to make it to Earth, but notice that there are almost 300 prisoners aboard in cryosleep. Their being there must have tripped an alarm, because one of the prisoners wakes up and tries to kill them. After some teamwork and badass sword skills from Echo (Tasya Teles) they take him down. The group realizes they have leverage over the prisoners on the ground, they literally hold the loves of hundreds in their hands…again. Bellamy (Bob Morley) decides they can use the prisoners lives to barter for the safety of the people they left on the ground. Genius Raven (Lindsey Morgan) realizes someone has to stay behind to kill the prisoners if needed. She tells Bellamy not to worry, there’s an escape pod she can take in case things don’t go as planned. Murphy (Richard Harmon) surprises Raven and stays behind too, so she doesn’t get too lonely. Too bad she was lying about the escape pod, now they’re both stuck up there.

On the ship on the way to the ground, Emori (Luisa d’Oliveira) is testing her skills as pilot, using everything Raven has taught her to get her people safely to the ground. Once they successfully land, they quickly find the prisoners and more.

Protector | Momma Clarke (Eliza Taylor) knows she needs to hide Madi (Lola Flanery). She hides the girl then leads the prisoners away and after her. She’s hurt and is caught and brought to the leader of the prisoners, Charmaine Diyoza (Ivana Milicevic). Charmaine says she just wants some answers, then they can work out a way to peacefully live together, but Clarke isn’t saying a word. It isn’t until much later when the prisoners find Madi and ordered to shoot her that she finally begins talking. She tells the stranger what she wants to know, that it’s just her and Madi, when they get word over the radio that more people have been found. Charmaine thinks Clarke has been lying to her so she puts a shock collar around her neck and leads her out to meet these people.

Reunion | Madi rescues SpaceKru from the prisoners and immediately recognizes Bellamy and says Clarke knew he would come back. Bellamy is clearly shocked when he hears Clarke’s name. The group goes off to find Clarke.

In the rover, Madi takes everyone to where Clarke is being kept. Bellamy gets out and Madi immediately reverses, B there to make a deal. Clarke sees him and is equally as shocked to see him as he was when Madi said her name. Now, everyone must come to some sort of agreement, but I’m sure it won’t be easy.

The 100 airs Tuesdays at 9pm on The CW.
