“Siren” Exclusive: Rena Owen’s Reaction to Season 2 Renewal News

Ahead of its inaugural season finale, Freeform on Monday announced a Season 2 renewal for mermaid drama Siren. Scheduled to air some time in 2019, the series’ sophomore season will run for an expanded 16 episodes — up 6 episodes from Season 1’s 10-episode order.

OMFGTV got hold of one of Siren‘s stars, international award winning actress Rena Owen (Helen Hawkins) to get her reaction to the great news!

“Needless to say, I am over the flippin’ moon about Siren going to season 2 and for 16 episodes!” Owen tells us.

“It is so exciting and 16 episodes means we get time to really develop our characters, their relationships, and their stories.

“It also means new characters could come into play in Bristol Cove and one thing is for sure; now that mermaids have come to land, I don’t think that is gonna stop any time soon!

“I love being Helen and I would have been very sad to say goodby to her. Thank you to Freeform and to all our amazing fans who helped to make season 2 possible!”

There’s just one episode left until the season finale, and Owen promises that we will get a lot more information about her character real soon!
