The CW’s The 100 is finally back! The premiere showed us what Clarke has been up to in the 6 year time jump, checks in with other characters, as well as introduces new characters! ‘Eden’ was written by Jason Rothenberg and directed by Dean White.
28 Minutes of Clarke Griffin | Just as promised by Jason Rothenberg at WonderCon 2018, the premiere kicks off with 28 minutes of just Clarke (Eliza Taylor) surviving the 6 years after the death wave. Honestly, I wouldn’t be mad if we had an entire season of just Clarke surviving alone, Eliza totally killed it! We see Clarke explore a destroyed Polis, find Lexa’s throne– they decided to hit us in the feels and play Lexa’s theme– and take a stick from it to use as a walking stick, but causing a collapse on the hatch keeping everyone in the bunker.
Clarke digs up a rover, somehow it still works, and takes off in search of somewhere livable. After a while she finds some bugs that have smashed on her car and decides that’s a tasty snack, but unfortunately gets caught in another crazy storm, ripping the solar panels off the rover and rendering it useless. Clarke must go forward on foot.
She passes out at the bottom of a sand dune, only waking up when a bird pecks her, hoping for a meal. Once Clarke realizes that a bird means there’s life somewhere, she follows it. She begs the bird to take her to where it lives, but only leads her to more desert. She’s about to give up and off herself when the bird circles back around heading the other direction. She follows and it pays off big time. The bird has led her to Eden, a green valley where the death wave passed over. Unfortunately the radiation did not, it killed all the people in the valley, leaving only their homes behind.

Clarke moves in, eating berries she finds to survive. One day she sees someone, a little feral looking girl, and she goes after her. The girl leads Clarke into an animal trap then tackles her. When Clarke gets free she stitches herself up, but doesn’t forget about the girl she saw. She searches for her the next day and finds her catching fish. Clarke wants to learn too, but the girl has been on her own too long and is not trusting. After leaving the girl a picture she drew, Clarke befriends the girl and they survive the next 6 years together.
Strangers | Clarke and the girl, Madi (Lola Flanery) have made the best of their situation and thriving on their own in the wilderness. Suddenly they see a ship come down, it’s a prison transport ship carrying prisoners from the past. These prisoners don’t know how the world ended, but they’re on a mission to find out. Clarke has Madi hide under the floor–another floor child!–but the newcomers find her immediately. Clarke channels her inner momma bear and takes out the two prisoners that found them.
Up in Space | When we finally check in with the SpaceKru we see that lots of things have changed between the group. Echo (Tasya Teles) and Bellamy (Bob Morley) are together, but Murphy (Richard Harmon) and Emori (Luisa d’Oliveira) are not. Harper (Chelsey Reist) and Monty (Christopher Larkin) are still together, but things between them look rocky. Raven (Lindsey Morgan) is still the smartest and kicks the most ass out of everyone, and is ready to get back on the ground. Most of them seem ready to be back on the ground, Murphy being the exception. They all become alarmed when they suddenly see another space craft getting ready to drop a dropship. They try to hail it, but receive no response.
Underground | We only get about 30 seconds of bunker action, but it’s arguably the best 30 seconds of the episode because it ends with a shot of Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos). She’s watching two of her people fight in a cage match, but her face is painted red. She looks the most badass we have ever seen her, and that’s saying a lot!
