The latest episode of Syfy’s Van Helsing is the bloodiest yet! Between Vanessa unleashing her pain on ferals and Sam continuing his murder rampage at the juvenile delinquent center, there is quite a bit of violence. But between all the action finds Vanessa and Julius face-to-face with another group. ‘A Home’ was written by Jeremy Smith and Matt Venables, and directed by Jason Stone.
All Tied Up | We don’t see much of Doc (Rukiya Bernard) and Axel (Jonathan Scarfe) this episode, but what we do see of them leaves what’s next for them up in the air. Axel needs to feed, but to avoid feeding on and killing Doc, he instead makes her tie him to a tree.
Home is Where You Make it | Vanessa (Kelly Overton) is dealing with the pain of really losing Dylan the only way she knows how to, by going on a feral-murdering spree. Julius (Aleks Paunovic) is still with her, trying to give her advice and tell her to be a little more careful. Human Julius is a very likable guy, the complete opposite of vampire Julius! Unfortunately for them, the get caught by a group of Skinners-vampires who skin their victims and wear some of the skins. Before they can do too much damage to Vanessa of Julius a little girl appears and she lures the Skinners away to be killed by the rest of her group.

Vanessa and Julius meet The Johnson’s, a group of survivors training kids how to survive, but also how to be kids. Julius loves the group, but Vanessa is skeptical, especially after meeting a boy named Troy (Cory Gruter-Andrew). Troy has scars on his arms and won’t talk about them. Mike (Phil Burke) insures Vanessa Troy already had those scars when he got there, he came from a rough group before them. They invite her to go to trade with that group the next morning, and she agrees to go.
Something is wrong when they get to the trading spot, the other group isn’t there. Vanessa decides to go find the group, goes through the juvenile detention center, the rest of the group is shocked by their findings.
Psycho Sam | Sam (Christopher Heyerdahl) continues his murderous rampage through the juvenile detention center, with Felix (Bzhaun Rhoden) as his unwilling accomplice. Felix tries to help his friends escape, but Sam catches him and cuts his tongue out, adding it to his finger necklace. He continues to call Felix Mohamad, making the whole situation even creepier.
Vanessa finds Sam in the pool room, and is ready to face-off.
What’s going to happen next week when Sam and Vanessa go at it? Julius is there, will he realize Sam is the one who killed his mother?
