Potentially bad news, “Sanvers” shippers: Floriana Lima, who played Alex Danvers’s surprise girlfriend fiancee in season 2 of “Supergirl,” will not be a season regular in season 3.
Lima, who played Maggie Sawyer in season 2, will only be available for limited appearances in season 3 due to her availability next year.
Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg has affirmed that this was not a story based decision and that Lima will appear in season 3 in some capacity.

“We adore Floriana and have loved working with her to tell this story,” Kreisberg said in a statement. “Although she’s not available to us as a series regular next season, as she’s looking to pursue other opportunities, we’re happy she’ll be returning for multiple episodes in season 3.”
With Alex and Maggie engaged in the finale of season 2, it is unclear what this news will mean for the pair’s relationship. Will they tie the knot before something drives them apart, or is this the end of the road? We’ll have to wait and see.
