“Under Leaf Pluck Lotus” was a real forward moving episode for the series. Danny finally makes good on his promise to take down the Hand as he drags Colleen to the docks where the Hand is shipping their drugs. This lead to a super cool fight sequence taking place in the back of a moving truck that housed a Russian chemist who is making the heroin. This was one of the best fight scenes in the Marvel/Netflix world so far and, though it may not have been one long shot a-la “Daredevil,” it was nonetheless well done.

We also saw Claire Temple again, the Netflix equivalent of Phil Coulson, as she is taking defense classes with Colleen. She also warns Danny about the dangers of the Hand, having been nearly killed by them in “Daredevil” season 2, but of course, Danny must defeat them anyway.

Then there was the whole Ward subplot, which was eye rolling to say the least. While the stuff about him refusing to settle a case involving a faulty chemical plant was alright, the whole heroin scene was just weird. And he nearly spills the beans about Harold secretly being alive to Joy, but that goes nowhere.

“Under Leaf Pluck Lotus” was a step in the right direction for the show. With a great fight scene and some real driving action in the plot, this was a cool episode with very few missteps.
