The 100‘s latest episode was one you don’t want to miss. It contains romance, distrust, and a car chase! “We Will Rise” was written by Charmaine De Grate and directed by Dean White.
“We are all in this together now.” | Clarke (Eliza Taylor) wakes up in bed with Niylah (Jessica Harmon)–guess they’re back on– and they have an honest conversation about Lexa and Clarke’s leading style. Clarke has to get the hydrosene to Becca’s lab and begs Niylah to stay behind in Arkadia.
But Niylah isn’t the only one Clarke convinces to stay behind, after learning several Azgeda warriors abandoned their king, Clarke convinces Kane (Henry Ian Cusick) to stay behind as well. She promises to give her mother his love.
Bellamy (Bob Morley), Clarke, and Roan (Zach McGowan) set off with a few Azgeda warriors and the fuel to deliver it safely to the lab. But does anything ever to as planned on The 100? Trikru stopped and inevitably attacked because Azgeda slaughtered their people. Once they get free they come across a river they can’t cross. Roan and Bellamy take the rover and look for a safe crossing, but when they return Clarke, the warriors, and the truck are missing.
While looking for Clarke and the truck, Bellamy and Roan fall into a Trikru trap, and it’s then that Roan realizes it was his people who took the truck. Bellamy is able to catch up to the truck and Roan jumps into the back to take out one of his own men. Bellamy gets an awesome head shot to save Clarke and the truck from the remaining Azgeda traitor.
Bellamy decides he needs to get back to Arkadia to be with Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos), before Roan and Clarke set off to deliver the fuel Roan discovers something awful; one of Trikru’s arrows pierced and drained one barrel of fuel.

“From the ashes, we will rise.” | Everyone in Arkadia wants Ilian (Chai Hansen) dead for destroying The Ark, but Kane, Monty (Christopher Larkin), and a few others know they need to protect him. He’s taken to their healing ward after getting beat up where he’s in a bed across from Octavia. He apologizes to her, he didn’t know what was coming. She tells him what he already knows, the Arkadians want to kill him.
The pissed off mob gets Ilian from his bed and takes him outside, Octavia wants to be the one to kill him. She puts Ilian on his knees in the mud and holds the gun to his head–sound familiar? Before she can pull the trigger Jaha (Isaiah Washington) sounds the alarm for black rain, forcing everyone to get inside immediately. Kane talks Octavia out of killing Ilian by pointing out the similarities to how Pike killed Lincoln and this situation. O breaks down in a truly heartbreaking performance by Marie, and runs out of Arkadia.
“It’s the fighters that survive.” | Raven (Lindsey Morgan) is driving herself mad in a simulation rocket landing. She doesn’t have enough fuel to safely land it, and to make maters worse her head is hurting again. Murphy (Richard Harmon) is there, antagonizing her for hours as she tries and fail to make the simulation work, until she snaps. She punches him and screams how much she hates him. Luna (Nadia Hilker)comes running, realizes what is happening, and quickly embraces Raven and calms her down.
Luna bonds with Murphy a little later, opening up a little about her past in order to make him realize he can find peace, too. She reminds him that Raven needs him right now.
Murphy gives Raven the idea of a “controlled crash”, Luna suggests landing in the water. Raven thinks this could actually work and goes so far as to thank Murphy for the idea–someone feels guilty about that sucker punch. After a few adjustments, Raven successfully lands the simulator in the water! She’s so excited she actually figured it out, but her excitement is short lived. Murphy tells her Clarke radioed, they lost one barrel of fuel. Raven begins to freak out again, but her head starts to really hurt, leading to another seizure.
Other Thoughts:
• Opening the episode with another funny Jasper (Devon Bostick) scene was brilliant, keep them coming!
• Niylah acknowledging Clarke’s love and hurt for Lexa was a very important conversation for them to have, especially if they continue with their ‘relationship’.
• Marie’s performance this whole season has been outstanding, but Octavia breaking down was definitely her greatest performance of all.
Can you believe that cliffhanger?!? Do you think Raven can survive another seizure, or has her brain finally had enough? What will happen when Bellamy returns to Arkadia and realizes his sister left? Will he go after her or respect that she needs to be alone for now?
