<OMFGTV had the pleasure of speaking with Z Nation‘s very own Doc, aka Russell Hodgkinson! A lot of exciting stuff will be happening in the 10th episode of season 3, entitled, “They Grow Up So Quickly,” so we’re going to give you a bit of a sneak peek.
The official synopsis for the episode is:
Doc and Addy try to convince Lucy’s family to follow them; Murphy tests 10K’s allegiance.
In this episode, we—and Doc and Addy (Anastasia Baranova)—finally get to meet Lucy! Russell shared that one of the things he’s looking forward to you all seeing is Lucy herself! “I’m excited for them to see the wonderful performance by Madelyn Grace Obermeier, because she’s great!” We couldn’t agree more—you never saw a cuter blue half-zombie kid!
While Lucy only has Ma (Kim Little) and Pa Kettle (D. C. Douglas) in the way of human company, she’s far from lonely. “Lucy has used her abilities to make zombies her playmates,” Russell told us, so that turns out being, well, interesting for Doc and Addy to deal with.
“I’m also excited for them to hear the story of how Lucy’s Mommy and Daddy met,” he added. Doc spins it into quite a tale for little Lucy in this episode, and it’s a fun trip down memory lane.
Russell then spun us a tale of what Doc would be doing if he hadn’t joined Warren (Kellita Smith) and her group. He reminded us of how in season 1, episode 13, the gang discusses what they’ll do once they’ve completed their mission. Doc says, “Maybe I’ll buy a boat and sail around the world. Find me an island where there’s not even a Z in their alphabet.” Russell thinks Doc would stick with that. “I think he would have found a sailboat and he’d be on some island right now, eating coconuts.” Sounds pretty nice.
Next, a slightly more morbid tale: if Doc had to die, how would Russell want him to? “I know Doc said he would go out in a blaze of zombie glory. I would prefer he die of old age, and then get mercied by a tearful 10K.”
