If you have been keeping up with Syfy’s vampire thriller, then you know Doc hasn’t had the easiest time in this new world. At the beginning of the show she is a vampire being kept in a cage by her friend, and now she is human but struggling with something.
“In the whole series she’s discovering this power about herself, that she’s really in denial about,” Rukiya tells us. “It can’t be real, yet it is.”
Rukiya likes to think of Doc as a “virgin vampire” because she was never allowed to fulfill her urge to kill. Now that Doc is human again she is in a strange new situation.
“Doc is in a position now where she remembers what it is to be human, and she remembers what it was to be vampire.” So what does Doc do now?
On the subject of “remembering,” Rukiya recalls auditioning for Van Helsing and not thinking she would actually get the role, but with such an incredible story and amazing producers she decided to audition anyway.
Bernard was really drawn to the role because, “the legend of Van Helsing and Dracula is really cool! I really wanted to audition for the part because it is just an action-packed show.” Lucky for us she decided to audition; her portrayal of ‘Doc’ is wonderful!
The action continues in tonight’s all-new episode, titled “Help Out.”
“Oh man, it’s a good one!” she teases. “It’s really good. It’s super intense. There are surprises around the corner for every character. Now that they’re no longer in the hospital, it’s really a true test for survival on the outside, and everything doesn’t go the way it’s supposed to go.”
Be sure to tune into Syfy tonight at 10pm to see what happens to Doc and the others on Van Helsing!
