On Saturday, we showed you a Dead of Summer teaser poster, which is the second in a set of five being released by Freeform in anticipation of the series premiere of horror-supernatural drama Dead of Summer.
The promotional image pictured a group of happy-go-lucky campers going for a swim in the camp’s eponymous Stillwater Lake. Looks like they did not get the memo that the lake is very dangerous, causing some who dare take a dip to mysteriously vanish. And from the looks of the third teaser poster, which you can view below, it appears that the lake is being used as somewhat of a dumping ground for dead bodies.
Freeform on Friday released the new key art on its official fan portal (DeadOfSummerTV.com) which features a scantily clad young woman soaking up the sun while lounging on an inner tube on Lake Stillwater. Little does she know, there are countless corpses floating nearby.
From the posters that have been released so far, it looks that with each release, they are getting darker and more sinister. And though the poster below is haunting enough, we couldn’t help but change it a little to give it that extra killer punch. Check out our edited version just under the original version and let us know your thoughts in the comments!
Set in the late 1980s, school is out for the summer, and a sun-drenched season of firsts beckons the counselors at Camp Stillwater, a seemingly idyllic Midwestern summer camp, including first loves, first kisses—and first kills. Stillwater’s dark, ancient mythology awakens, and what was supposed to be a summer of fun soon turns into one of unforgettable scares and evil at every turn.
Dead of Summer premieres Tuesday, June 28, at 9pm on Freeform.
