What The Buzz?
Freeform on Wednesday released a cryptic first poster for the highly anticipated supernatural-horror series Dead of Summer, which you can view below.
The teaser image, first seen here at Nylon Magazine’s 2016 Coachella party, displays a supposedly dead bee cradled on the tongue of a camper’s salivating mouth.

We have no idea what to make of it and how to interpret the photo, but we’re going to try:
Deep, Dark Secrets You Must Keep. If You Reveal, You Will Not Sleep. A Hundred Bees Their Buzz Will Sing. And In Your Mouth They’ll Kill, They’ll Sting.
Basically, if you reveal the secrets of Camp Stillwater, you in danger, gurl.
After doing some research, we found that bees may play a significant part in Dead of Summer. A quick look at the official fan portal for the show (DeadOfSummerTV.com) will show you — if you look closely enough — a lone, dead bee. But where? Eagle-Eyed visitors of the site will notice an image of a bee (inset) up in the browser tab for the website, right next to the website title.
Could a large swarm of bees be one of the various manifestations the mysterious supernatural/paranormal entity forms into?

Set in the late 1980s, school is out for the summer, and a sun-drenched season of firsts beckons the counselors at Camp Stillwater, a seemingly idyllic Midwestern summer camp, including first loves, first kisses—and first kills. Stillwater’s dark, ancient mythology awakens, and what was supposed to be a summer of fun soon turns into one of unforgettable scares and evil at every turn.
Dead of Summer premieres Tuesday, June 28, at 9pm on Freeform.
