Episode 2 of Lifetime’s sexy summer soap Devious Maids revealed the aftermath of Blanca’s gruesome discovery. The installment also included a couple of not-so-surprising proposals, as well as a maid looking for work who may be too much to handle. Here’s a recap of what went down on “From Here to Eternity.”
HOUSE OF HORRORS | While Rosie (Dania Ramirez) was in the hospital, Spence (Grant Show) not only made soft-core porn, but he also managed to make his living space a complete mess. Rosie demands Spence pull his own weight and clean up the house himself instead of waiting for her to be discharged and do it herself. When Zoila (Judy Reyes) and Carmen (Roselyn Sanchez) make a visit to the Westmore household, Spence turns on the waterworks and blames his laziness on his grief over what had happened to his wife. Feeling sorry, Zoila and Carmen offer to help clean the house without him lifting a finger.
ADVANCED PLACEMENT | Marisol’s (Ana Ortiz) successful placement of Blanca (Naya Rivera) in the Stappord household has encouraged the former English professor to start a placement agency for maids who are looking for work in Beverly Hills. When Marisol’s temporary live-in and unemployed roommate Carmen is not even considered for any jobs, Carmen is given the harsh truth that it is hard to help her find work due to her demanding, diva-ish behavior. Luckily, there is one employer in the Hills who would make a perfect fit for Marisol — an employer who enjoys talking down on and critiquing less than adequate maids: Evelyn Powell (Rebecca Wisocky).
PUT A RING ON IT | Remi (Drew Van Acker) proposes to Valentina (Edy Ganem) who then breaks the news to her mother who is disapproves of them tying the knot. Zoila then has a change of heart when she, too, gets a proposal of her own. Zoila reveals her engagement and her pregnancy to an upset Valentina who feels that her mother is moving way too fast since the death of her father. Eventually, the pair get each other’s blessing.
MY LIPS ARE SEALED | After Blanca’s first big taste of the crazy, bloody, deadly drama that happens when working for a Beverly Hills housewife, she decides that what she had witnessed was too much to handle and seeks Marisol’s help in finding other placement. Blanca explains to Marisol that she had been asked to do some questionable things that she wasn’t comfortable with. Marisol responds saying that if an employer wants something extra, it’s also best to ask for something extra. Blanca returns to Taylor (Brianna Brown) Stappord’s house and says that she will return to work and keep her mouth shut IF she gets a “pretty big” raise — a request Mrs. Stappord complies with.
