Aloha Vet Sneak Peek: Shine Bright Like a Diamond

Aloha Vet

The Aloha Vet‘s Dr. Scott Sims is one of Hawaii’s best-kept local secrets. Not your typical veterinarian, he treats both wild and domestic animals, and when islanders need help with their pets and livestock, he’s the one they call. Some clients live in hard-to-reach locations, but if an animal needs help, Dr. Sims always finds a way to get there, even if he has to walk, ride a horse, drive an ATV, fly a plane or swim. It’s a wild job that’s an adventure every day.

It appears that Bridget’s chicken, Neil, has an appetite for girl’s best friend — diamonds! Naturally, Bridget named her office pet after the famous crooner, Neil Diamond, after it accidentally bit off her earring and swallowed it. It hasn’t turned up since!

Unfortunately for Bridget, the earrings were given to her as a gift from her boyfriend when he had returned from Afghanistan — so they do hold sentimental value.

Luckily, Dr. Sims is able to open up the abdomen and retrieve it if Bridget wants it back, or she can choose to leave it in there, which won’t be harmful at all for Neil. What will she decide to do?

Aloha Vet, “My Chicken Ate What?” airs tonight at 9 PM ET/PT on Nat Geo WILD.
