Witches of East End Recap: The Meaning of Forever

The two hour season finale of Witches of East End was bananas! In the first hour, titled, “Box to the Future,” weapons are lost, the way home is in the hands of someone they least expect, and plans come unraveling right before everyone’s eyes.

First, we find out that Joanna has a tail and its name is Tarkoff. With orders to kill her, Tarkoff only came to 1848 to take what he wanted from Joanna before vanishing, leaving Joanna back at square one with no weapon to kill her father. Tarkoff attempts to be apart of a team with her but after she refuses, he takes her down! Or moreso takes her for himself. Ah! No wonder why he didn’t kill her. We all know Joanna can’t be kept down for long and she will most definitely refuse to succumb to this psycho who can’t take no for an answer…so…

Wendy. Wendy lost the key to get back home and the girls may be stuck in the past forever if Wendy and Freya don’t find and retrieve the key! Too bad past Wendy has it tucked in her chest! Yikes! Remember that 24 hour time limit they had before *!$% hit the fan? Well. It’s here.

Meanwhile, when Frederick notices that Ingrid has been spending more time with Dash and may have doubts about returning to Asgard, he tells his Grandfather who then makes the decision to turn his appearance (to Tommy) so that he can become the master spy. Grandfather as Tommy pays Dash a visit and immediately after, Dash tells Ingrid so they can fast forward on finding out a way to stop him. Ingrid suggests a dark spell. Too bad there’s no time to take Grandfather down. Frederick realizes his tattle tale mistake after Grandfather corners and traps Ingrid.

Finally, Killian calls Ingrid in an attempt to save himself after he has a vision in which Freya tells him that she’s still alive. Ingrid comes to the rescue with a potion that may help save Killian from the poison that Killian used to try and kill himself with. #StarCrossedLoversProblems. Lots of corners and traps in this episode! Which Beauchamp lady were you most worried about?

In the second hour of Witches of East End, titled “For Whom the Spell Tolls” the Beauchamp ladies face the King of Asgard, their father and grandfather. Ooooo!

First, Joanna is still trapped in Tarkoff’s lair though thankfully, Wendy saves the day, sneaking in in cat form and then reverting back to human form to haul Joanna out of there! Yeah! Meanwhile, Poe Killian tags along with Freya but when Freya starts dying, she says her goodbyes.

So how do they finally get out of the past? A letter. My favorite tool in time travel stories. A letter from the past that is handed down to someone in the present for help at just the right point in time. That someone was Ingrid. And while Joanna, Wendy, and Freya make it through the door that Ingrid opens, Wendy leaves empty handed with her own weapon accidentally opened by Tarkoff who tried to tag along and instead was left in the past after opening up the weapon due to it falling on the ground.

But let’s back up for a moment. Before Ingrid saves the day… Grandfather as Tommy tells Ingrid she is pregnant. He then proceeds to tell her that he wants all of their powers – after he’s already taken hers. What he thinks belongs to him. Hmm. Okaaayy. Then, Frederick tries to play hero and stab Grandfather from behind but this warlock has been around for ages and sees it coming, therefore directing the aim of the knife towards Frederick! No! Thankfully, he’s fine and the two head out to find Grandfather’s journals which may be a key in their big plan to take him down. Which brings us to Dash and Raven.

Dash confronts Raven about the journals she stole from his place… only she has a search warrant and five federal agents in tow to complete the job. Go, Raven! Anyway, Dash tells Ingrid that an FBI agent stopped by and picked up some things, including the journals. Clever way to spin things, Dash. Okay. Still, Raven arrests Dash. The FBI knows more than Dash would like them to know (nothing about magic though) and he’s officially in knee deep trouble now. Wonder how he’s going to get out of this.

As for the ladies? Well. Once they’re all in present day, Grandfather doesn’t hesitate to start taking powers. Not only that, he doesn’t even mind killing. His own family! His own daughter if he had the chance! He was about to kill Wendy if Joanna, Freya, and Ingrid hadn’t intervened. Killian died for a few seconds though with that poison in his blood. But a kiss from Freya and of course, Killian lives. Too bad he visits his brother in jail and Dash switches souls with him so now Dash is forever in Killian’s body and Killian is forever in Dash’s body, in jail.

So who did actually die in the season two finale? Well, in the final minutes of the show, we find someone walking away from Frederick’s body, with “Death to Witches” written in his blood beside him. Oooo! Not shocking but still executed very well! Shocking however was…was…Wendy! She traded her life for Tommy’s! No, no, no, no, no! No! But is she really gone? Her nine lives are over but that doesn’t mean she can’t reappear as another supernatural being. Plus, in the final scene, we see that Wendy is in some sort of hell where her other sister is! Another sister! Yes!

Witches of East End has not yet been renewed for season three but will return in 2015 if it is indeed renewed. What do you think the deal is with this long lost sister? How do you want Freya to find out that Killian is actually in Dash’s body? What do you think Joanna’s reaction will be to Ingrid’s Mandragora pregnancy? What are you most anticipating in a possible season three?
