Witches of East End Recap: Birthday Booty!

It’s Freya’s 30th birthday on this week’s episode of Witches of East End and what a celebration it was! Though it wasn’t all good. Freya ended the night with a broken heart and she wasn’t the only one.

Killian chooses Freya’s birthday to tell her that he’s still in love with her and he’s not sure how or why he’s married to Eva. Let’s not forget that he spills the beans about Eva being a witch! Too bad Freya is not having any of it, not even reacting to the Eva witch news and completely accepting their star crossed fate. Until… until the kiss. The kiss with the perfect party abandoned outdoors backdrop. Which leads to a complete makeup session between Killian and Freya. And the crowd cheers! But wait! Killian decides he must go home and break up with Eva before returning to Freya and running off into the sunset with her. Cue Eva’s spell working on this sucker. Is it safe to say that Killian’s a fool for breaking up with a sketchy witch with no backup and Freya’s a fool for not being part of the invisible backup that Killian should have had? Killian may not know that Eva is only using him to get pregnant and ensure that she lives a long life herself but he knows enough to be cautious.

Anyway, it’s Frederick’s birthday too…twinsies! He may want to spend the night living it up with his girlfriend, Caroline but Tarkoff has other plans. To get back to work. To find someone who trusts Frederick and use them for their evil plans! Unfortunately, Tarkoff sees Frederick and Caroline making googly eyes at each other at the birthday party and decides that Caroline is the one that Frederick must use. Joanna is completely unaware of Frederick and Tarkoff’s shenanigans but something tells me she won’t be in the dark for long. Funny how Tarkoff took this night of all nights to reveal to Joanna that he not only had a crush on her, he was in love with her. You know, that one sided first love we all have. Well. Heck of a way to show it by using her son to accomplish nothing good.

Also worth mentioning here, the exchange Frederick has with Killian at the party. Frederick remembers drama that went down in Asgard which we are not privy to and he doesn’t hesitate to tell Killian to “stay away from his sister if he knows what’s good for him.” What went down in Asgard?! I want all of the deets! I don’t know if I’m more excited for Frederick to play big brother or for Frederick to be obliterated once whatever plans he has with Tarkoff come to light.

Oblivious to everything at this point is Wendy who has her own problems to deal with. Tony stops by the house to surprise Wendy and ends up seeing her change from cat to human. Naked human to be exact. He finds out she’s a witch – one of the pretty ones! – according to Wendy herself. His reaction reminds me of a Charmed one’s early days of telling. Memory spell and all. But but but Wendy decides not to use the spell and she has a pretty hot last hoorah night with Tony! Do you think she made the right choice not using the memory spell?

Finally, there’s Ingrid who accepts Dash’s brunch offer only to find a woman in his apartment. Acceptance off the table. His excuse is that he didn’t think he had a chance with Ingrid. Well, if he had any self respect or respect for Freya, his former fiancée, he wouldn’t even give Freya’s sister a chance. No shipping here. Only after sleeping with him and going on his computer to send an email to Freya since her phone is dead does Ingrid see photos of the cover up she’s realizing she was a part of. Consider this ship… wrecked. As it should be! But now that Ingrid knows what Dash is truly capable of, will she fill her family in so they’re all on one accord?

This week was such a fantastic episode! Freya and Killian were so close to reuniting for good, as long as good should have them. Wendy was really progressing in her relationship with Tony only to have to turn him away when she finds out her secret way too soon. And the secret Ingrid finds out is non negotiable and should completely sever any hope of any positive relationship moving forward with Dash. But they all got the birthday booty! Question is, which relationship do you want to see last? Is anyone actually rooting for Ingrid and Dash? Do you think Killian and Freya can make their own fate and not be star crossed?
