Teen Wolf Recap: The Mexican

teen-wolf-401-dark-moon-recap

After examining the bullets used by the hunter family in Derek’s (Tyler Hoechlin) loft, the signage on the bullets lead Scott (Tyler Posey) and his gang to Mexico find and rescue him. Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) and Lydia (Holland Roden) head to a club and find Araya (Ivonne Coll), the matriarch of the Calaveras hunter family. Stiles puts $50k on the table in exchange for Derek and later finds out that she doesn’t have him either.

Araya puts Scott through the wringer to make him give her the name of the one who has Derek held up. Her deadly tactic of forcing Kira’s (Arden Cho) hand to turn the dial that will electrocute, along with a few vague clues bring Scott to visualize that the person who kidnapped Derek was Mr. Argent’s presumed dead sister Kate (Jill Wagner).

Now with that information engrained in his mind, Araya sets them on a hunt to find him which takes them underground of an abandoned church. Scott and their Cavaleras guide Braeden (Meagan Tandy) find Derek, but there’s just one problem: somehow he has aged backwards to his teenage years. What? How? and Why?!

BEST BITES AND OTHER OBSERVATIONS

 • We loved seeing Kira and Malia (Shelley Hennig) get close on the dance floor. Could Malia possibly be bisexual?

 • The Mexico setting of the season premiere was a nice change, but we hope the show doesn’t stay there for too long. We already miss the school setting and the rest of Beacon Hills.

 • How great would it be if Young Derek went to school with Scott and his friends!
