Dr. Deaton (Seth Gilliam) did warn Scott (Tyler Posey), Stiles (Dylan O’Brien), and Allison (Crystal Reed) of the side effects to the ancient ritual the three of them performed to locate the Nemeton, but until last night’s episode of Teen Wolf “Anchors,” we had no idea it would end up like this.
The extent of the side effects so far have been Stiles having a dream within a dream within a dream! They’ve included him being trapped inside a locker, waking up beside Lydia (Holland Roden), and one in a classroom where everyone’s doing American Sign Language! Meanwhile, Allison’s poison is being haunted by her dead aunt Kate (Jill Wagner) in the creepiest of places including a morgue and during a love-making sesh with Isaac (Daniel Sharman)! Who else fell for that and thought they were actually about to bone?! And finally, Scott sees himself transforming into his werewolf alter ego out in public and is paranoid that his secret will come out.
Deaton tells the trio that when they died and came back to life during the ritual, the doorway into their subconscious was left opened and needs to be closed immediately because it is very, very dangerous. Something tells me it’ll take a few episodes or even the whole latter half of the season for them to accomplish this.
While all this is going down, Sheriff Stilinski (Linden Ashby) rummages through his old and unusual unsolved cases and with a fresh pair of eyes after discovering the existence of supernatural creates, starts to understand what really happened. One of the cases he can’t get out of his head one of Malia Tate, a young girl who along with her mother and sibling died in a car crash 8 years prior. Malia’s body had been presumed to be dragged away from the car wreck and eaten by coyotes, but after reassessing the case, Sheriff Stilinski suspects that it had actually been a werewolf attack.
Scott and Stiles go on the hunt for Malia’s remains and not only find her alive(!), but discover that she is also a werecoyote!
BEST BITES
• We love how cool Scott’s mom (Melissa Ponzio) is with the whole werewolf thing. “Hey. You two supernatural teenage boys, don’t test my entirely un-supernatural patience.” She’s the best. 🙂
• Arden Cho has already stolen our hearts as Kira, the new student in Beacon Hills High. With Scott’s mom telling him to move on, we can already see he and Kira becoming an item in the foreseeable future.
• Our jaws dropped when Isaac was in bed with Allison and we were kinda bummed that it wasn’t real. Hopefully this is just foreshadowing what will happen soon!
