Good Cop/Bad Cop | Wade (Liam Cunningham) interrogates Raj (Saamer Usmani) at his naval station and asks his honest opinion on one of the battleships in port and then says that he needs him for a very important mission. Auggie (Eiza Gonzalez) and Jin (Jess Hong) are holed up in a safe house with ten cops guarding them, but Jin isn’t convinced that they’ll be enough to protect them. Elsewhere, Clarence (Benedict Wong) talks to Ye (Rosalind Chao) in an interrogation room and as they talk, Clarence reveals that Mike Evans (Jonathan Pryce) is Vera’s father.

Also, she lied about the VR headset that she gave Jin when she said it belonged to Vera- she was recruiting Jin. Clarence deduces that Evans has found a way to communicate with the aliens even faster than Ye ever did, since Evans hasn’t left Judgment Day all these years. After a discussion with Wade, Clarence agrees that they need to find Judgment Day and get Evans’s records and that the ship has recently gotten permission to dock in the Panama Canal.

Clarence visits Auggie at the safe house and tells her that in order for them to track down Evans, she needs to resume production in her lab on her nano fibers. Auggie reluctantly agrees, but isn’t convinced that anything they do will make a difference. They go to her lab in the middle of the night and start the machine up again, only this time, the countdown doesn’t come back, much to Auggie’s relief.

Right Down the Middle |  Wade and Raj assemble a team of British Navy men to raid Judgment Day as Auggie is told that Clarence will not be accompanying them on the mission. Saul (Jovan Adepo) finds Will (Alex Sharp) and informs him that Jack left him half his fortune in his will. Will, however, offers the money to Saul, saying that he has no need for it and wants to enjoy his final days. In Panama, Raj oversees the operation as Auggie helps them use the nano fiber in some kind of pipes. Wade asks Auggie to double check Raj’s work, but asks Raj to do the same to Auggie. Auggie privately talks to Raj and begs him to not use the fibers, since it will kill everyone on board, but Raj says he thinks that they are at war.

The next day, as Judgment Day prepares to dock in the canal, Raj orders the men to raise two poles in front of the ship with the nano fibers hanging between them. As the ship passes between the poles, everything starts slicing in half, including all the people  and children aboard, who die in horrific fashion as Auggie watches. Evans tries to escape with the hard drive, but is cut in half before he can, as the entire ship is torn to pieces. As Wade watches, he congratulates Auggie for her work.

Bugs |  As Auggie walks through the wreckage of the ship, she finds the severed leg of a child and is rightly horrified. Raj finds Evans’s body in the wreck and Wade pulls the hard drive out of his fingers, which they take back to their HQ. Unfortunately, none of their top minds can crack open the hard drive, estimating that it will take years- right before it suddenly cracks open. They find a file on the drive that is the size of 100 million gigabytes, as Wade brags to Ye about what happened to Judgment Day. He shows her a tape recorder of Evans’s conversations with the aliens and when she plays it, she hears Evans revealing to the aliens that humans lie and the aliens saying that they cannot coexist with liars.

Wade picks up Jin and shows her the file from Evans’s hard drive, labeled “3body.” They hook it up to two VR headsets and try them on and end up in the ruins of a city with the mystery woman from the game. The woman tells them that the aliens are doomed because of mankind’s track record for fighting back against the aliens and so, they have sent two supercomputers to Earth that allows them to manipulate the sky, as they did when they flickered the stars. They’ve been watching and manipulating mankind for the last few months and promise that they can control everything. To that end, all electronic screens around the world display the words “You are bugs” as the sky becomes reflective and eyeballs appear around the world, staring down at everyone. Among the people below is the woman who escaped the summit (Marlo Kelly), who is smiling at all of this.
