SYFY’s Resurrected “SurrealEstate” Set to Bring Back the Haunts This October

Just in time for Halloween’s spooky season, SYFY has announced the premiere date for the long-awaited return of its supernatural drama SurrealEstate.

The cabler revealed Thursday morning that the sophomore series will open its doors Wednesday, October 4 immediately following the return of Chucky, now in its third season.

SurrealEstate, whose series debut bowed July ’21, follows real estate agent Luke Roman and an elite team of specialists that handle the cases no one else can: haunted and possessed houses that literally scare would-be buyers away. Researching, investigating and “fixing” the things that go bump in the night, the team works to create closure – and closings – even as they struggle with demons of their own.

The series was cancelled in October of the same year by a shocking decision from the network. Creator and showrunner George R. Olson shared the news on social media, adding “We’re committed to finding a new home for #SurrealEstate.”

Thankfully, the thrilling series didn’t need to relocate as SYFY, in a very rare move made by networks, reversed its decision, resurrecting the series for another season.

The new season of SurrealEstate was originally planned for a summer release, but possibly due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, its return was pushed into the fall. The Season 2 premiere comes almost exactly two years since the show was originally cancelled.

In the heartbreaking Season 1 finale of SurrealEstate, Luke Roman discovered that the hateful woman in the Donovan House was actually his sister and not his mother. After she was banished into the portal in the basement, Luke lost his ability to communicate with the dead, meaning he no longer is able to connect with his late father.

The series stars Tim Rozon as Luke Roman, Sarah Levy as Susan Ireland, Tennille Read as Megan Donovan, Maurice Dean Wint as August Ripley, and Adam Korson as Father Phil Orley.
