“Supergirl’s” Nicole Maines Teases Dreamer’s DC Comics Return

Supergirl may have only bowed out a few days ago, but it seems the characters and actors from the show are hard at work to make sure their stories live on.

Nicole Maines, who played TV’s first transgender superheroine Dreamer in the TV series, has teased that she is working on writing a new DC Comics series focusing on her character. Maines posted a cryptic photo on her social media pages showing her hands on a laptop typing a script for what appears to be a comic book focusing on Dreamer.

Unfortunately, details beyond that photo are nonexistent, but it’s safe to say that Dreamer’s story is far from over. The character made her DC Comics debut in a Pride Month-themed anthology one-shot written by Maines and illustrated by Rachel Stott last June. Whether or not Stott will return for the series remains to be seen.

Maines debuted as the character in season four of Supergirl and has been a fan favorite ever since. A transgender rights activist from a young age, she is also working on a memoir about her life and has starred in the indie horror film “Bit,” which released in 2019.
