The latest episode of Teen Wolf gives spotlight to the parents on the show, and frankly, it’s about time! It’s great that they finally have a storyline instead of just being their normal secondary players. In the episode “Alpha Pact,” a third parent it taken, a member of the Hale family gets close to death, and someone from Scott’s (Tyler Posey) past comes back into his life. Let’s go over some of the events that transpired in the season’s eleventh episode.
Mr. Argent (JR Bourne) figures out that the next place the Darach (Haley Webb) will be targeting is back at Beacon Hills First National Bank. He takes Allison (Crystal Reed) and Isaac (Dylan Sharman) along as backup but when they get there, he tasers Isaac and handcuffs Allison so they both stay put. Why? Because he’s offering himself up to the Darach as a self sacrifice. Surely this is all a plan so that he can be at the same place where Scott’s Mom (Melissa Ponzio) and Stiles’ dad (Linden Ashby) are and help them escape, right?
Meanwhile, the secret to the location of their parents was under Lydia’s (Holland Roden) nose the whole time! Remember all those trees she likes to draw? Apparently, she’s been drawing the EXACT SAME TREE over and over again. And not only that, but it’s not a tree at all! If you flip the drawing over, you’ll see that it’s actually the roots to a tree which reveal the Nemeton! Hopefully they make it there in time before Jennifer/Julia kills one of them!
Meanwhile, Cora (Adelaide Kane) is only getting worse. He uses his healing power to temporarily ease her pain, but he wants to do more. Peter (Ian Bohen) tells Derek that he can stop her suffering by taking her pain away and giving up something of his in return: Power. If Derek does this, he will lose his Alpha status and become a Beta and Derek is more concerned about the well being of his sister and he does it. As he does, his werewolf eyes change from red to blue.
Lastly, an FBI agent comes into town to and continues to ask Stiles questions about what he knows about where their parents might be. Stiles remains tight-lipped which frustrates the agent. We later find out that not only does the FBI Agent want to know where Ms. McCall, Mr. Stilinski, and Mr. Argent are because it’s his job, but because he has a personal connection with one of them. The FBI Agent’s name is Mr. Rafael McCall (Matthew Del Negro), a.k.a. Scott’s dad!!!
BEST BITS
• The best way to shut someone up or calm someone down is by kissing them. And that is exactly what Lydia did when Stiles was having a panic attack. We thought it was cute and want more of them together!
• We knew Ms. Morell (Bianca Lawson) had some kind of supernatural connection but we didn’t know what exactly. We learn that she is just like Jennifer Blake in that they are both emissaries. We got to see for the first time her powers in action as she punches her fist up into the air and a circle of wolfsbane surround her forming a protective shield against the werewolves who are trying to attack her. We can’t believe she started out as just a school counselor and now seeing her as a bad-ass emissary with cool powers!
