The CW on Tuesday evening gave fans of its apocalyptic hit series The 100 a taste of what’s to come with a sneak peek of the first three minutes of the sophomore season’s opener.
The nail-biting clip, which was first screened exclusively at the San Diego Comic-Con this past summer, features Clarke (Eliza Taylor) escaping the confines of her cell and confronting one of the facility employees and captor, Maya (newcomer Eve Harlow).
Maya “becomes a big character for us,” creator Jason Rothenberg told OMFGTV back in July, and adds that her portrayer Harlow “is excellent and a really very strong actor.”
“We really get to see what a bad-ass Clarke has become,” Rothenberg says of the sneak peek. “She’s hard in so many ways.”
Near the end of the clip, Clarke sees something that takes her off guard and flips her lid prompting to ask herself, “Where the hell am I?”
“I didn’t show in the clip what she’s looking at,” Rothenberg explains, “but it’s a big holy sh*t [moment]. And that’s where we begin to realize what Mount Weather is and the story takes off from there.”
The 100 Seaason 2 premieres Wednesday, October 22, at 9pm on The CW.
