Most people don’t know when or how they will die, but the characters on The 100 face a different problem. They are well aware of when–6 days–and how–radiation cloud–they will die, unless they choose to live in an underground bunker for the next 5 years. This week’s brand new episode explores the choices made between fighters and those who are just too tired to keep going. “DNR” was written by Miranda Kwok, and directed by Marizee Almas.
“Tell them I floated myself.” | Murphy (Richard Harmon), Raven (Lindsey Morgan) and Emori (Luisa D’Oliveira) have been left at the lab to scavenge tech and prepare to move to the bunker, when Raven begins to hear something. She investigates and realizes it’s Becca (Erica Cerra) she’s hearing, from inside the rocket. Raven knows this isn’t real, but she goes to Becca anyway, and learns that she is going to die soon. Her brain is past the point of repair, and to prove that point she has another seizure. Becca later tells Raven she needs to get back into space for one more spacewalk, and Raven is in! She doesn’t want to lose her mind, it’s what makes Raven Raven! Becca gives her the idea to fix up the rocket to get her into space, create a spacesuit, then go for one last spacewalk. It doesn’t matter that she doesn’t have much fuel, she won’t be making the trip home anyway. Jackson (Sachin Sahel) and Miller (Jarod Joseph) return to gather the group and take them to Polis, and Raven and Murphy share a beautiful goodbye before parting ways.
“This is who I am.” | Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) and Ilian (Chai Hansen) go to Ilian’s village, O is ready to put the warriors life behind her. Ankara (Melinda Michael), a villager, shows up and tries to persuade Ilian to fight with Trikru against Azgeda, but he refuses. Octavia has second thoughts about not fighting, and discusses it with Ilian. She learns that his people believe in reincarnation, so are not as afraid to die. Ilian thinks they are lucky, they know when they will die so they should just enjoy the time they have left.
Later, Ilian leaves Octavia alone in the garden, where she is attacked by Ankara and two others. Octavia tries to stop them from attacking her, but when she realizes she can’t she switches into Assassin Octavia mode and kills them all, right as Ilian walks out. Octavia is once again embracing all that she has become.

“Together we have struggles. And together we will rise.” | Jaha (Isaiah Washington) tells all of Arkadia about the bunker and has them to prepare to leave for it by sunrise. Jasper (Devon Bostick) and several others have decided they don’t want to live in a bunker, they’re tired of fighting and just want to die. Among that group is Harper (Chelsey Reist). Monty tries to talk some sense into the love of his life, but she’s too weighed down by the death of the guy who died in the black rain. She knows she could have saved him and didn’t, so she doesn’t feel she deserves to live. She joins Jasper and the others to drink their final days away. Jaha tries to force them to go to the bunker, but Bellamy (Bob Morley) makes an excellent point. Jaha once sent them all down here to die, now they have a choice. Jaha stands down.
Later, Jasper and Harper say their goodbyes to Bellamy, and it’s hard not to feel sad when Jasper hugs Bellamy. Monty surprises his girlfriend and BFF by staying behind, not because he wants to die but because he is hoping they change their minds. PLEASE LET THEM CHANGE THEIR MINDS.
“Welcome back to Polis, my king.” | Clarke (Eliza Taylor), Abby (Paige Turco), and Roan (Zach McGowan) are on their way to the bunker when Abby tells Clarke the truth about the bunker deal, Roan is no longer their ally. Indra (Adina Porter) has agreed to let Roan stay in the bunker, but no one else from Azgeda. If he refuses he will be killed. Kane is there to make the offer to Roan when Clarke quickly warns Roan about the deal and Azgeda suddenly appears. Echo (Tasya Teles) has ambushed them to protect her king and return him to Polis.
Back in Polis, Echo explains how she found out about the temple and the alliance, and Roan calls for Wanheda. After clearing the room the first thing he does is thank her for warning him. He knows Clarke means well and is trying to stop a war, so he agrees to talk to the Trikru war chiefs. At the meeting, Indra acknowledges the only reason Azgeda and Trikru haven’t gone to war yet was because of Lexa, and that made something click for Clarke. She later goes to Gaia (Tati Gabrielle) to prove she’s a nightblood and worthy of becoming Commander.
Roan and Echo are discussing battle plans when they hear the ascension call, and Roan realizes he’s been duped in a sense. He knows who the new Commander is. At the ceremony, the Flame is about to be placed in Clarke when Roan stops it. He brings in Abby who tells them Clarke is only a nightblood through science. They realize they can no longer rely on blood to choose a Commander if they can make them, so they decide on a final conclave instead. One warrior from each clan will fight in Polis to the death, no guns allowed. The winner gets the bunker.
That night, Bellamy has arrived in Polis and Clarke is filling him in on the conclave rules. They realize they don’t have anyone who can fight hand to hand with grounders. Enter Octavia on horseback to save her people. We know who the Skaikru warrior is now.
